Whispering Tree!

Photograph of an Acacia tree over which speech blurbs with typed calls of warblers keep appearing

Come October and many indistinct trees in India seem to start whispering! Warblers arrive from the hills and countries up north and set trees abuzz with their muffled calls. One of the warblers that visits large parts of the Indian subcontinent in winters is Lesser Whitethroat (Sylvia curruca), calls of which have been portrayed in this animated graphic. Lesser Whitethroats keep moving or hopping about the trees they visit for feeding and while at it, keep calling intermittently. Listening to their soft, rhythmic calls in peaceful surroundings is an ethereal experience.
